Lisa Wuyek, PhD is a licensed psychologist specializing in the treatment of anxiety disorders and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). She uses treatment strategies that have been validated by research (empirically supported treatments). She specializes in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), particularly exposure and response prevention (ERP).
For more than 15 years, Dr. Wuyek’s practice, teaching, and research have focused on anxiety, OCD, and related disorders. She is a specialist focusing on providing individualized outpatient treatment using ERP and CBT.
Dr. Wuyek has worked and trained at several high-profile institutions. She served as director of the Johns Hopkins Anxiety and OCD Clinics, providing ERP to local and international patients with OCD and anxiety. In addition to patient care, she also directed the CBT Training Program for psychiatry residents at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, including providing intensive supervision and training focused on diagnosis and empirically-supported interventions for OCD and anxiety. As part of her position at Johns Hopkins, she developed a subspecialty in treating anxiety and OCD in medical professionals. Prior to her work at Hopkins, she provided intensive inpatient ERP for patients with treatment refractory OCD and anxiety at the Menninger Clinic OCD Treatment Program.
After several years directing the Anxiety and OCD Clinics at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Wuyek started a private practice in the area providing specialized outpatient treatment for OCD and other anxiety disorders. Over time, this practice grew and has now expanded to include a specialty practice in Manhattan offering evidence-based treatment for OCD and anxiety.
Dr. Wuyek currently splits her time between her practice in New York and her practice in Baltimore. She provides specialized and individualized outpatient ERP and CBT for OCD and other anxiety disorders. She also offers consultations to patients and other providers feeling stuck in treatment or starting treatment for the first time.
Dr. Wuyek is offering HIPAA-compliant videoconferencing sessions for all new and established patients.
